Factorio's headless server keeps your factory running while you are away, and pauses itself when nobody is connected so a quiet server is not burning through UPS. We run it on dedicated machines, on NVMe storage.

Upload an existing save or start fresh with a world set up much like you would in-game: pick a preset, roll a seed and preview the map before it's generated. Server and map settings get proper form fields that catch mistakes before you save. Install mods from the dashboard and roll back to any autosave.

Sizing

How much RAM does a Factorio server need?

PlayersBest forServer
Up to 4A young factory in its first hundred hours, vanilla or lightly modded.Small Biter€9.00/mo
4 to 10A mature base, or a vanilla map running a few quality-of-life mods.Big Biter€17.00/mo
10 and upMegabases, and overhaul mods such as Space Exploration, Krastorio or Bob's and Angel's.Behemoth Biter€25.00/mo

Factorio is unusually CPU-bound. A large factory is limited by how fast one core can tick the simulation long before it runs out of memory, so a bigger tier helps most when the map itself has grown.

Included

What every Factorio server comes with

Settings without the JSON

Server settings and map generation settings are laid out as labelled fields with validation, and written back in the format Factorio expects.

Preview your spawn

Pick a seed and see the area around spawn before the world is generated. Reroll until the start suits you, then create the world from the dashboard, with or without Space Age.

Bring your own save

Upload a save through the file explorer or SFTP and load it. Autosaves are kept, so rolling back a bad blueprint import is a restore away.

Mods managed for you

Install and update mods from the dashboard. The server picks them up on the next restart, and version switching keeps the pair consistent.

Always-on factory

The server keeps running between your sessions, and pauses on its own when the last player leaves unless you turn that off.

Restarts on a schedule

Pick a time of day or an interval and the server restarts itself, telling players in chat first on the games where we can reach a console. Anything written to the server since its last boot, mod updates included, is picked up on the way back up.

Getting started

Setting up your Factorio server

  1. 1

    Pick a Factorio server

Choose a tier from the list above. Sizing is about memory and player count, and you can move to another tier later without losing your world.

  2. 2

    Configure it

Set the Factorio version, pick an address for your server, and choose a billing cycle. Everything here can be changed afterwards.

  3. 3

    Play

The server is built and running within a couple of minutes of checkout. Your address, console, files and backups are waiting in the dashboard.
